Correct link. Still not clear if it's a product or a prototype:

can't have it.

Unfortunately, the BriefCrate's days as a buyable product are over. We couldn't reasonably "acquire" enough milk crates to meet demand, but demand was insufficient to commission our own milk crates. (which would have made them a lot less cool, anyway). There's also some severe ecological problems with this product. We suggest this: if you really want one, make it yourself.

Sorry you weren't able to keep it buyable - If it is a way to recycle old milk crates, it would offset your ecological concerns. Would you consider posting some instructions at instructables.com for those of us who would like to make it ourselves?

Thanks

The trouble is, old milk crates still work really well as milk crates. By stealing them, cutting them, and throwing half the plastic away to make massively overbuilt hipster bags, we were encouraging the production of new plastic milk crates.

An instructable is a good idea - for people who have milk crates already, but don't happen to operate a dairy distributor, and have discovered the limitations of milk crate furniture. We'll work on it. If anyone can think of something to do with the rest of the milk crate (the top), please let us know.
